Inquest Rules Gill Catchpole Took Her Own Life
James Morrison's late fiancée, Gill Catchpole, died by suicide, an inquest has ruled. Catchpole, 45, was found unresponsive at the house she shared with the 39-year-old singer in December 2019.
Devastated by Loss
Morrison has been left devastated by the loss of his long-term partner. The couple had been together for 15 years and had two children.
Mental Health Struggle
The inquest heard that Catchpole had been suffering from mental health difficulties in the lead up to her death. She had been receiving treatment for depression and anxiety, and had been experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Statement from Family
In a statement, Catchpole's family said: "We are heartbroken by Gill's death. She was a loving and devoted mother, and a wonderful partner to James. We will miss her dearly."
